- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Decrease mixer speed to low and add flour mixture, pecans and chocolate chips. Do not overmix.
Transfer batter to prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean but center is still soft. Cool on wire rack before cutting into bars.
